In this lesson students were asked to add the total number of vowels in thier names. The worked in partners following the lesson structure from "Mathematics Tasks for the Thinking Classroom" by Peter Liljedahl.

Personal Informational Writing

In this book students were asked to write about things they enjoy doing. They were given the sentence starter "I like to" to encourage them to use high frequency words they'd practiced.

Representing Numbers

In this task students were asked to practice forming numerals 1 to 5, represent them within a ten frame, and create a real life representation of the number.

ELA & Social Studies

Persuasive Writing

This writing task was given to students as part of an integration of the wants and needs unit being covered in Social Studies. They were asked to write a letter to their teacher describing some way our class could be improved.
